I first want to say that I use a dec-talk express so I never have tried it
but is there not a volume control in the voice setting in jaws? Does that
volume control work only for jaws or does it control the system sounds as
well?

Nickus, I believe you will need to go into your "volume control" for windows
and make the change in the Jaws volume item in the volume mixer. I am
running windows 7 on one machine and vista on another along with Jaws 12 and
jaws 11 and that is what I have to do.
tdry this:
1. go to your system tray with jaws key plus F 11 and down arrow to "volume
control" and enter on the item.
2. then you will down arrow on the menue that pops up and enter on "volume
mixer"(on my computer this is the first item you land on).
3. after you enter on the volume mixer, you will be in a dialogue box and
tab through the dialogue until you get to the volume control for the jaws
program.
4. In this control, use your up and down arrow to adjust the jaws volume the
way you want it.
5. when you are finished making the adjustment, simply close the dialogue
box with the alt key plus F4 key.
good luck.
