Jaws speaking too much

Hi list
I am using Windows 98 and Jaws 5.0.138
Jaws is announcing " bold, under line, normal" when I'm trying to read any
of my files. I've gone to the configuration manager but still can't find
where to turn this option off.
I would appreciate any help I can get.
