Hi, Gary, never heard of that. Thanks!! Will try it. Judy ----- Original Message ----- From: Gary King To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, November 04, 2010 8:39 PM Subject: Re: Jaws losing focus. Judy, Another trick that sometimes works when you get a web page that JFW thinks is blank is to toggle the Virtual Cursor off and then on with Insert+z, or JAWS Key+z if you prefer to be more FS correct. You may still need to use your remedies if this doesn't work, but it's the easiest thing to try first. Hello to all, I'm using Jaws 11 with Windows 7. I'm finding, however, that, although Jaws is running pretty well, several times during the workday, it will lose focus during system navigation, for example, alt-tabbing to another window, going to the desktop with Windows key-m, getting into the start menu, etc. I get a message saying lost focus, alt-tab. That doesn't necessarily bring things back into focus. There are also times when Jaws isn't reading everything it should, for instance a current line, or letting me know a web page is pulled up. In that instance, when arrowing, I get the window title but hear blank, blank, blank, when sighted coworkers can see the page. The only remedy I've found is to completely close Internet Explorer and re-open the page. Are there some Jaws settings I can change to make it run more smoothly? I've also been told by AT that there aren't any display issues affecting Jaws performance. I've also tried unloading and reloading Jaws, but does not help. Thanks for any advice. Judy
