Here's a fuller answer to the problem in OE: Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific technical Support. View the TSN below to resolve this issue. This is a focus issue with Microsoft Outlook Express that occurs with or without JAWS running and is specific to Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2. When Outlook Express is set to display all e-mail messages in plain text, the focus moves to the subject line instead of the body when you open a message. JAWS reads the subject, but cannot read the message body because that area does not have the focus. For your convenience, script files are now available which will resolve the issue with JAWS 5.10. You can replace the fixed script set in your c:\JAWS510\Settings\enu folder as follows: 1. Download the modified script set: ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/Tools/5.10FixOE6.zip 2. Unzip the files. The file set should include: - msoe.jsh - msoe.jsm - Outlook Express 5-6.jkm - Outlook Express 5-6.jsb - Outlook Express 5-6.jss - Outlook Express 5-6.jcf - Outlook Express 5-6.jsd 3. Copy and paste these files into the JAWS510\Settings\ENU folder. This overwrites the existing files. Note that this script set also fixes the problem described in the following article: JAWS speaks the message title in Outlook Express twice This can stil also be handled by changing the Read All Messages in Plain Text option, though this might not be an otpion for those who must use plain text. 1. Start Outlook Express 6.0 or later. 2. From the Tools menu, choose Options. 3. Hold CTRL and press TAB until you move to the Read page. 4. Clear the Read All Messages In Plain Text check box. Alternatively, if you want to keep the plain text setting, press the TAB key after opening an e-mail message. Then, manually carry out the Say All command by pressing INSERT+DOWN ARROW.
