Hi David,
I tried that work around, but still no success. Then, I even tried
unloading JAWS and navigating to that web page, but still no imbedded audio
unless I use Firefox.

Thanks Gerald and Don for pointing out that there's still an issue with
Jaws and Realplayer. Up until very recently, embedded Realplayer didn't
work in IE8 at all - whether or not you were using a screen reader, and
the latest version of Realplayer fixed that problem. However, if Jaws is
running, it still doesn't work properly.
There does appear to be a temporary work around until there's a fix for
Jaws: if you turn the virtual pc cursor off (insert + z) before you
navigate to a page such as:
http://tc.pressakey.net/index.php
that is, before you open a link or choose a favorite, etc, then the sound
plays ok. Note that if you first go the site without first turning off the
virtual pc cursor and get no sound, then to get it to work by first
turning off the virtual pc cursor, you have to restart internet explorer
before doing so.

Thanks for doing such a great job on your IE 8 guide. However, you state
that you need Real Player 11 installed in order to play embedded audio.
One of the reasons I uninstalled IE 8 and reverted to IE 7 was that IE 8
would not, in fact play embedded audio, a problem I reported to MS last
September when I was beta testing it. The problem has not apparently been
resolved, as far as I know. If you want to verify this for yourself, visit
the web page below using IE 8. The embedded Real Player audio menu prompts
should start playing automatically if IE 8 is working properly. If all you
hear is silence (except for JAWS), then the problem is still outstanding.
