Troy! I work with an FTP server every day, several times a day,
uploading and downloading files. I don't think you really want to run
an FTP server on your computer. It's really probably way more than you
want to get into and your ISP probably won't even allow it.
I rent space on an FTP server and let the people who own the server
handle all the problems.
How large would these files be? The FTP space I rent is designed
to be rented in turn. You could have like 500 Megabytes for $10 per
month. You may even already have FTP space on your ISP's server.
Windows already has a great FTP client which I also use everyday.
Uploading and downloading files with the Windows FTP client is just like
working in Windows Explorer except that you are working with a computer
that may be thousands of miles away.
