You may remember me from the LG phone list. I'm still using the phone with
great ease and comfort thanks to what I learned on that list, including your
helpful contributions.
Anyway, just to chime in on this: I've had to call Freedom Scientific Sales
twice by now. The first time was about three weeks ago, when a lot of
people on this list, including a few in Southern California, where I live
too, said they'd gotten their stuff. The fellow I spoke with, who said his
name was Charlie, told me it should have been here already, and said he'd
write an order for another package to be sent to me, immediately.
But as of yesterday, still nothing had come. So I called Freedom Scientific
again, and a woman, whose name I forgot because I was not so even-tempered
this time, looked at my file and told me that it said I'd been sent another
copy back then, which of course I explained I hadn't received, and she
promised to have a third one sent immediately. She obviously was completely
at a loss for an explanation, and resorted to saying lame things like,
"Well, you know, it's the holiday season and everything," to which I just
said, "Look, is this stuff going out Forth Class?" No, she said; she was
sure it was being sent First Class. Well, I said, this has nothing to do
with holiday season. So she wondered if my address information was wrong.
No, no, same address all these years of using Jaws, since V. 3.7.
anyway, still waiting. For anyone who's itching to say I should just
download it, 1. I don't feel like bothering with the codes and stuff, and 2.
I want to install those new voices at the same time, following the
instructions.
So, let's see what happens. Meantime, the FS invitation to renew my SMA got
to me very efficiently in the mail. Ironically. Go figure.
