Hi, Judy. I think you can reconcile what FS Tech Support and Linda reported. When FS says it doesn't support an application, they mean they haven't developed scripts, etc. designed specifically for it. That doesn't mean JAWS won't work at all with it. If you've been following the thread about MS Access 2007, you'll see that several people have developed workarounds for handling it, even though FS hasn't provided application-specific support. (They should have, but that's a different question.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Judy Jones Sent: Thursday, November 25, 2010 12:20 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Jaws and quickbooks. Oh, Linda!! This is such great news to hear. I wish I would have known you this summer. I almost got a job offer in an office, but had to turn it down, because from everything I could find out, I was told QB didn't work with Jaws, and that very few accounting programs did. This info was from JFW tech support. With that info, I didn't bother trying for myself, figuring tech support is the last word. I am employed now, but this message gave me a pleasant double-take. Pleasant because I'm glad to find someone who makes QB work. But am also troubled, because it makes me wonder how much you can trust JFW tech support. With most of my experience with them, they have been very good. But I got a bum steer this summer with QB that could've made a big difference to me. I realize people aren't infallible, and maybe there was something I should've or could've done. I hope my story wil benefit someone on this list. Woops! Pecan pies are almost done!!I'm outa here to check on them! Thanks again for sharing. Hi, I expected someone would address this but since no one has, I will tell you my experience. I am not using Jaws with the latest Quickbooks, but I have used Jaws and Quickbooks for years. I am currently using QB 2004 at home. We are just starting to use the time tracking feature of QB at work and it will be the 2010 version so I will be able to tell you more about that in a couple fo weeks. It is very possible to use QB with Jaws. I find the registers navigatable. It is necessary to know the order in which the columns are arranged because jaws doesn't tell you what the column is, but you can learn them. There are some keyboard shortcuts. You can use the review screen for several applications. Are you familiar with QB? Does anyone know if there are Jaws versions that work with Quickbooks? Have heard that Jaws "Professional?" works? Am fuzzy as to what Jaws Professional is.
