Hi Brad. I was having the same problem with Windows Messenger and Jaws 5.1. 
It would be working just fine and all of a sudden, Messenger would start 
saying blank instead of reading the message. If you push the grov key twice, 
you can read the message. Or you can do what I did. I downloaded MSN 
messenger 6.2 and tried that and it's working better.
