There's a lot of fud being spread by Microsoft officials in the press, either 
indirectly or directly. Steve Bomber or however you spell his last name[I'm 
sure I butchered it] has alluded to a 2009 or 2010 release date.

  Thanks.  I am still using Windows XP; was thinking to buy myself a new
  computer, because my laptop is quite old and sometimes do weird things, but
  I am now worried to buy a computer with Vista and then in one/two years time
  Vista will be replaced.  Seems as if I must hope instead that my laptop will
  rather last!
