I have had them all installed at one time or another. MacAfee
is easy to run a scan. But one
thing I didn't like is when scanning there is no type of progress bar, just
the file being scanned, so you have no idea how long it is going to take.
As far as configuring it, isn't it just a series of checkboxes? Read the
pages in it like you were reading a web page, arrow down the page instead of
tabbing in some dialogs.
One thing is that it doesn't read the window or move focus to them when an
actual virus is found on your system. I had changed the default jaws
scripts to do that when one of those pop up windows occured.
Norton.
I do feel like it really bogs down your system. But as far as
accessibility, if you are used to it, then it really is a good AV program
and is what I used for years. I have a copy of norton internet security
2006, but that's not what I'm currently using. And if you stick with
something you know, you don't run the risk of choosing something not as
accessible as you feel Norton is.
Trend Micro PC-Cillian Internet Security.
I found it jaws friendly, much
to my surprise and delight.
II didn't feel like it was bogging down my system.
ezTrust EZ armor.
I like the AV and it is jaws friendly and easy to do a full scan or a custom
scan. Road runner and I think earth link are offering it free to their
customers.
NOD32 is one a lot of people are using and I have only heard good things
about it. And it is accessible once you turn off the graphical interface.
Windows Live One care is another choice now and is accessible with Jaws. It
is a complete package, AV, firewall, and other system tools.
Some people use AVG or AVast. They are free, but some reports say AVG isn't
one of the best, but honestly, I feel it does its job well enough for the
price.
I know some people like AVast. It is free and it does provide good enough
AV protection. The settings aren't too hard, I wrote some scripts to be
able to move focus from the treeview in the settings to the options.

Subject: Jaws and Virus Programs
Hi, Everyone,
My old computer had Norton 2005 installed on it and it was fairly accessible
with Jaws. The new one has McAfee (free for 3 months).
I would like to know which one you all think is better and do you have
problems using Jaws with McAfee? I can't seem to navigate it well at all.
I am using Windows XP Home and Jaws 6.0.
Thank you.
Katherine
