Hey list,
I'm using Jaws 10 and Windows XP pro. I was looking at the
Microsoft Word help system so I could learn more about Word. I'm making it
my mission to learn how to use the help system for various programs. In
trying to achieve this goal I've ran into some problems when using the
Microsoft Word XP 2003 help system. I was looking at the link for Outlook.
I had no problem with reading the information pertaining to the new
features in Outlook but when I switched my focus from the Word help window
to another window and then alt tabbed back to the Microsoft Word Help window
and did a say all to read the information again Jaws wouldn't read it. If
he did it was very slow. I also tried up and down arrowing and nothing
happened. I did two things.
1. I held down the insert key and pressed up arrow and then quickly released
the keys and repeated this process several times and Jaws read the
information for me. I shouldn't have had to do that.
2. I used the Jaws cursor and read the information.
What I'm getting at is: Why does Jaws not read the information the
way he's supposed to when I return focus back to the Word help window? One
thing that I didn't mention before is I pressed alt left arrow to go back a
page and then alt right arrow to return to the page talking about Outlook
and did another say all and Jaws read it just fine. Why is this happening?
I shouldn't have to do insert up arrow several times, or use the Jaws
cursor, etc to read a simple piece of information. Any suggestions would be
appreciative.
Carmen
