If the message stays on screen for more than about four minutes, check your
firewall. It may be blocking the update feature. Been there, done that!

Yes, Ive just tried to update thismorning and the message stayed on screen
for more than an hour before I got fed up and closed the dialog box. I can
only assume that I've not been updaated.

At times when I go to check for updates under help, I hear no message
spoken, not even the prompt telling me to "Please wait while Jaws checks for
updates, this may take several minutes." it just sits there or seems to. But
when I read dialog box using insert B, the message is there; it doesn't go
away until I push alt f4. Anyone else notice this; it happens mostly at
night time I find.
