Have you tried right arrow in case the items are not in a real list? At 06:09 AM 11/10/2010, you wrote:
Hi, I am a new user on this mailing list and am impressed with the expertise exhibited by all of you on finding solutions to Jaws issues. So, I hope someone can help me find a solution to a very strange problem that I have been experiencing with Jaws over the last month or so. I have begun to experience a strange "doubling" of JAWS keystrokes. After booting up, if I press the PC cursor key on my keyboard (whether on a 101 keyboard or my laptop's keyboard) I get a "ding" sound in Vista rather than the announcement "PC Cursor". If I try to pull down the file menu in Jaws, and press down arrow to select an option, it is skipping every other menu item. If I open the start menu and use the arrow keys, it too skips every other menu option. So, if the start menu looked like this: Accessories Maintenance Microsoft Office Secure Zip Symantec And I was on accessories, pushing the down arrow key once would jump to Microsoft Office instead of maintenance. Another down arrow would jump to Symantec instead of Secure Zip. This occurs right after I log into my Vista machine. I have used msconfig to turn off all non-Microsoft services and startup applications, but this does not resolve the problem. When I experience this, I shutdown Jaws and then run "c:\program files\freedom scientific\jaws\11.0\jfw.exe" and that fixes the problem. But this "fix" seems only to deal with the symptom, without addressing the underlying problem with Jaws. I have uninstalled Jaws, including its activation key, and reinstalled the software and activation to resolve the problem, but the problem persists. I am running Jaws version 11 on a Vista PC with service pack 2. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
