Hi Brad,
I have a Dell laptop the 6250 which I bought off of someone. In the
beginning I used the laptop keyboard. I now use an external keyboard. It
makes playihng games easier, and it makes using Kurzweil easier to use. I
didn't notice a floppy drive mentioned. Does that Dell have a floppy drive
on it? You will need it to authorize Jaws. Either a floppy drive or a dongle
version of Jaws or even an external floppy drive. I would assume that your
Dell like mine has what is called a function key on it. Jaws won't say
function key so you will either need someone with sight to help you, or do
what I did, and just play around until you find the function key. You can
use this function key with other keys in place of the numpad. For example
function key plus p will bring you into the jaws cursor. Function key plus
the semicolon key will bring back into the pc cursor. If your insert key is
in a good place you won't need to use the caps lock as your jaws key. Also
remember to set your keyboard to the regular laptop layout. If I can help
you further with the function key or anything just let me know.
