dpi is dots per inch and you can change it to any of the choices available. This approach worked for me because often, if I followed any of the other suggestions including unplugging the computer, I still could not read my start menu. I decided to try it because I got to the point where I figured that changing display options might work so I tried changing color depth, resolution and both with no joy and so I looked in advanced and found dpi. I set it to large from small. That fixed it for a while, and then I set it to small from large. I don't think I've ever changed it to extra large. At any rate, switching it back and forth was relatively painless and solved my problem but what really solved my problem was rebuilding my video chanin which meant uninstalling all fo the versions of ajws I had on the system, finding and making certain that all of the jaws video stuff was off the system and then reinstalling my video driver. Once I put jaws back on the system, all was well. And what something else would you change it to?
