JFW and Excel 2003

Hi
I am new to the list serve. Does anyone know how to use Excel with JAWS 7.1. I 
don't  know excel except to putin dates phone numbers and a comments field. But 
when I want to edit a field it deletes what is typed in there. I am typing text 
into a regular box when I say comments so I don't knwo if I  have missed 
something.
