I think common sense figures in here. If you don't have the problem, don't remove anything. Myself I didn't have the problem when I did the update. It must be something specific to certain ways of setting up jaws. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Yardbird" <yardbird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for providing this link to the FS instructions for remedying that
problem. I have a question. Though I'm using the referenced recent Jaws
update, I haven't encountered this problem. I would like to be sure there's
no need for me to delete any files to make sure this doesn't happen to me in
the future, though.

So I looked in my c:\Documents and Settings folder (I've never adopted the
habit of using the Start menu Explore My Settings approach, though I'm not
criticizing it) and looked in the FS/Jaws 8/settings/enu folder under the
Administrator, All Users, and Default User folders for default.jss
and default.jsb

Note: This question won't be easy to follow for anyone who doesn't use
Windows Explorer to go to these application data folders)

The only place I found these files was under All Users; in Default user, I
didn't even find a Freedom Scientific folder under Application Data. Fine.
Under Admin, I found only default.jcf. Only under All Users did I find the
full range of default files, including the ones referenced in relation to
this issue.

So, would this mean that for some reason, the way I have this computer set
up, I'm not in any danger at all from this problem? Does the term Personal
User refer to what I see in the folder tree view as Default User? In other
words, am I okay on this?

Thanks to anyone who can either reassure me that I don't need to do anything
or, if appropriate, caution m to delete those two files from All Users, even
though I don't seem to have a problem? Thanks.

Boris,

FS has a TSN covering this issue at:
http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_support/BulletinView.cfm?QC=1175
It will walk you through the steps on how to remove a default script file
from your personal settings folder.

Regards.

Tony

JFW 8.0.1163

Hi List,

I recently upgraded to JFW 8.0.1163 and am now getting an error message
when
using the insert down arrow command. The actual message is " Unknown
function call to: IsMagicRunning

Why would I get this error message? More importantly, how to I get rid of

this message?

Thanks,

Boris
