I did try the merge feature. My advice, in short, is not to bother.
As Jack and others here can attest, merge tends to make JAWS 6.0 quite
sluggish. Not to mention which, not all the settings take properly. The
best thing to do is calibrate JAWS by hand. You can save yourself some
trouble if you copy the file
default.jdf to a place where you can get at it and drop it back in the
proper place when you install JAWS. The reason is that default.jdf is your
JAWS dictionary file and this will save you the trouble of having to re do
all your dictionary entries by hand afterward.

Sincerely,

The Constantly BAREFOOTED Ray

I've got my disk, but before I install it I'm wondering if anyone has tried
the merge settings feature.
