If you have been using it successfully, maybe you should do a repair and
see what happens. I only had the menu problem in 5.0 at work and under
XP which a change in profile fixed.

In versions before about 4.5 and in Windows 98 I would get this problem
if I did not frequently reboot my computer. If I left the computer
alone for a few hours menus would not read in 98, so maybe even a reboot
could help.

I have never had it at home on XP.

Rose, yes, I have been using JFW 5.1 successfully on a win 98 SE
machine
for the past two months or so. The problem was beginning to show up, but

was much worse yesterday, to the point that I didn't even try to use JFW

5.1 once I had switched back to JFW 4.02.
