Juan Pablo,

jfw 12.1.158 ? I thought it was 12.0.1183, according to the Technical Note I
just forwarded in the last message. Doesn't FS know which version they are
actually sending out?

There currently is a Release Candidate of JAWS out but not available for
the automatic update. The final release will be coming shortly. If you have
your automatic update checked under Options and Basic Settings for your copy of
JAWS you will be prompted about the update and be given the option to download
and install.

If you have further questions, visit the Freedom Scientific website to
learn more about what is coming in the update.

I have been watching my JAWS 12 check for updates by way of the help menu.
and so for it has not come up.
I am using JAWS version 12.5.25 on my Windows 7 Home Premium machine. It
seems to work pretty well.
This version is what is listed on About JAWS.

    Perhaps the update happened automatically?
Or should I say, is this the most recent version?

    Thanks.
    Rik
