Hello, Here is a site where you can get a JAWS users guide by David Bailes that could help with these kinds of problems. http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Taskbar-7-Guide.html Hope this can be of help. Thanks very much, Elf. It may be the case, and I do hope to get a wired mouse soon and hook it up and try that and see if it might make a difference. I am also discovering some things that may factor in. I have been reading many of the Keyboard Shortcuts listed in the Windows Help & Support. Wow, what a ton of shortcuts I had never heard of. I really get rather overwhelmed trying to remember them as it is. Andn of course JAWS has many that I am still trying to learn. But what I was going to mention is that this incessant"pin the program to the taskbar" pop up in my Windows 7 machine that I am getting must be called the JUMP LIST. Have you heard of that? I only learned of it today, in this Windows Help. I never knew there were so many shortcuts listed that all deal with the Windows Logo key. I do not know if I have been pressing those commands, but this was useful to know about. One that is Logo plus the ALT key does open that Jump List. So perhaps I am too abrupt and imprecise in my keyboarding. This would not surprise me. I seem to still have it occurring but not quite as much. and I cannot determine yet with certainty what triggers it or what indeed I am doing, if indeed I am, to stop it. I spent time yesterday with tech support from Staples. And they could not seem to figure it out. It may or may not be related to my JAWS. But so few people out there are as we are, using the keyboard shortcuts. Here below is the windows logo keyboard shortcuts I found, should it be of use to anyone else. Thanks for all your help and ideas. I took a few classes in computers back when Windows 95 was just starting up, just when JAWS was coming out. I was a pretty happy DOS user, and sometimes I still miss that simplicity. Seems we have to fill our hours with this access. And I go ga ga.
