Re: JFW 11 and Skype Problem

Hello there;

this info may be useful for you.

give the latest version of the scripts a try.

Subject: [Skypeenglish] JAWS Scripts For Skype 4.2d Released

I am releasing JAWS scripts for Skype version 4.2d. This update works
with all Skype versions supported by version 4.2c, including the new
public beta of Skype 5.0. For anyone that used the semi-private
script beta whose URL I posted here recently, this update replaces and
adds to that script version.

This update contains the following enhancements over script version 4.2c:

In addition to Tab and Shift+Tab, arrows can now be used to move
between live calls and other list items in the main Skype window.
When the scripts move you between a live call and a non-live entry, a
small sound will be heard to let you know that you have crossed that
border in the list.

Tapping Home a couple of times should move you reliably to the first
live call, if focus is in the contact, conversation, or history list.
This significantly eases the task of getting to an incoming call.

Contact, conversation, and history list item counts are accurate
rather than being artificially high as before. If anyone using the
semi-private beta experienced random item count announcements, this
should be fixed by this update as well.

Loading and unloading another screen reader while running JAWS and
Skype should no longer cause Skype to quit supplying accessibility
information in most cases. (This was previously fixed for Skype 4.1,
but this update applies that fix to Skype 4.2 and 5.0 versions also.)

For the public beta of Skype 5.0, F6 and Ctrl+Accent, with or without
Shift, will include the new Call window in the set of screen areas to
cycle among.

Further details and relevant downloads can be found at
http://www.dlee.org/skype/ as usual.

Ray,

Sounds like one or more script files are missing. In particular xxx.jsb may be missing or corrupted. See if you can grab a complete set of scripts again
and copy/install to the user settings folder.

Subject: JFW 11 and Skype Problem

Hello:

I'm trying to help a client running Windows 7 64-bit, Skype version 4.1 and
JAWS 11. When she presses enter on Skype from the desktop, she gets a
series of 'Unknown function call' messages. One of these appears to be to a
SetHelpText function, I can't remember the other ones.

I tandemed with her and we tried uninstalling and re-installing Skype. That
did not fix the problem. I looked at the modification dates on her
skype.jss file and it said 11/04/2009. Does anyone know if there are
updated Skype scripts out there and if so, how I can help her get them? I'm
going to check and see that she's got the latest JAWS 11 updates as well.

Thanks,
