Hi there,
That's because these x97 processors
essentially use 64-bit extension to their
32-bit instructions. This is called Long
Mode where 64bit srograms, as well as 32-bit
programs can run, although a bit slower.
There is Legacy Mode where the processor will
act like a traditional 32-bit CPU. What
exactly do you have - Windows XP Pro x64
Edition or a 32-bit Windows XP?
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi, yes, we do have 2 computers using the 64
bit Athlon processor and JAWS
works just fine.
Until VISTA will support the 64 bit
architecture and JAWS will also use it I
am not going to move up (down) to VISTA.
Perhaps in about a year?

Hi Sean,
No, not at this point. There is a Freedom
Scientific bullcctin that deals
with it. The answer is:
JAWS does not support 64-bit Windows (even
Vista) under 64-bit processors (see below for
exceptions).
* You can in fact install 32-bit version of
Windows on a x64 processor such
as AMD Athlon
64 or Intel Core II Duo.
Windows Vista DVD's are produced in both
32-bit and 64-bit versions. Retail
version of Ultimate has both DVD's, but other
versions only come with 32-bit
DVD.
Cheers,
Joseph

hi,
yes, jaws8.0.423 can run in vista but you
need to set your windows to clasic
window, means you can't really use "AERO"
with Jaws
8.0.423, maybe up coming release of jaws can
support "AERO" in Vista.

As it happens, I had to have my system

are supported jaws scripts for this
