hi Jean,
As my links are speaking in Word, I just checked that on-the-fly verbosity
menu to see how it was set. And I find that the Fields item is on by
default. How could it have gotten turned off for someone, without them
knowing?

In Word, go into verbosity settings with insert-V and turn Fields on.
