Hi Sean, This is so strange. I had her check the language settings in Word 2000. It's set to Costa Rican Spanish as well as English. In JAWS, she left the speech to American English. She just wrote something in Spanish and it performed flawlessly, switching to Spanish, yet reading the menus in English. Then she went to her homework page she wrote yesterday, and it didn't read correctly. Same text, too. Why would JAWS work in some instances and not others? She can deal with it. It's just that she has to "interpret" the funny way JAWS pronounces Spanish while in English mode. Thanks for your help and suggestions.
