hi. I believe it has something to do with the support for Dhtml, or dynamic html. On my system, JAWS was very sluggish on websites. After checking the legacy support checkbox, things were just fine again.
To me, this setting should be turned on by default. The average user doesn't understand what it is, and if they download the final release of JAWS 7.10, and if it acts the same as it does on my particular system, people are not going to be pleased. FS should definitely turn this setting on by default.

Hi,

I don't understand what the legacy support is for, I seen it but didn't try
it. Have they changed the behaviour of IE a lot now?

Yes, I've noticed the second issue. I've also switched to legacy internet explorer support because it's too different for my liking right now. Some things don't work right with it yet, and I have reported them.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here is having a problem with the beta that I will
describe below.

Using IE I have found the following problems that I can't seem to find a fix
for and things that did not occur in JAWS 7.0

1. When on a webpage and using the cursor keys to move around on the page
the speech rate will suddenly slow down after being on a link and cursoring
up or down from it. If you cursor again the rate returns to normal.

2. When on a page in forms mode and clicking a button to continue to
another page the forms mode stays active instead of turning off and you
can't navigate on the page that comes up until you exit from forms mode.

Thanks

Rick
