RE: JAWS 5.0, Windows XP, and Word 97

Hi, Cy here.
It is a JAWS thing. Upgrading to Word 2000 will buy you nothing so far
as this is concerned.
You might tell JAWS to read no punctuation and see what happens.

Subject: JAWS 5.0, Windows XP, and Word 97

Hello all,
I have only been on the list serve for a week and have gleaned so much
valuable information from your postings. My question: I am running
Windows XP home, with Word 97, and the latest version of JAWS. When I
am reading by word in a document, it reads fine until I come to a
punctuation and then it reads the word twice. The first time it reads
the word, the cursor positions itself before the comma. Using the
Insert 6 again, it says the word again and positions the cursor after
the comma or on the next word.

Does there happen to be JAWS setting I have missed, or do I just need to
upgrade to Word 2000?

Thanks for any help you can give.
