ah, I see, app not web. That does make sense. This however is the second time in a month that I have heard of jaws users some how setting things up so that things don't work correctly. I am a bit guilty of this now that we can suppress content refreshing and flash on web pages but I know when it happens and can compensate for it. The other case was where a user insists on running with no graphics on web pages set in configuration manager including turning off graphical links etc. Imagine what you miss with that. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Paciello" <mpaciello@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2004 5:56 PM Subject: RE: JAWS 4.51 Rendering of CAPTION element ....to make the application as user configurable as possible. As a result, the user should have total control over the user interface. We have the same experience with the verbosity levels turned up to capture everything. On the other hand, this helps us ensure that our clients are developing compliant sites and applications. If the user decides to turn something off, then they did it of their own accord. Developers however, should accommodate all possible personas. -Mike Mike Paciello TPG Tel: 603.882.4122 ext 103 -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Poehlman Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2004 4:23 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: JAWS 4.51 Rendering of CAPTION element I don't know of any settings in 4.51 that would prohibit display of summary or caption in tables. In fact, when I used 4.51 for some 508 auditing, it was quite annoying to hear all the summery on lay out tables. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Paciello" <mpaciello@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2004 3:55 PM Subject: RE: JAWS 4.51 Rendering of CAPTION element Sorry Dave, I don't.
