Even lots of sighted people think the interface is crap, and I blame that programme for permanently screwing up my father's ideas about how his PC's file system works. Good luck finding alternatives if you're using an IDevice to play music...I'm sure some google searches will yield positive results.

Happy Winamp user here. Every time I look at Itunes I throw my hands up in utter bewilderment. Everything about the programme goes against what I believe a good experience with a PC should be like. haha If winamp ever leaves me unsatisfied, there are a few other players that I'd try. But, I suggest you take out any and all non essential icons. e.g. if you don't use tv shows, take it out. I also suggest you maintain all itunes media on the itunes folder. Not on your usual music folder. iTunes needs to check every tag and it slows thing down.
