Internet Explorer and JFW 6.2

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me out with a problem which has suddenly occurred. I've switched on my PC this evening to find that a couple of strange things are happening in IE, first of all that alt d no longer takes me to the address bar, in fact it does nothing, and when in a combo box I cannot arrow through the options at all. Does anyone know what might have caused this, and if so, how can I put it right? I've used the f11 keystroke to make sure I'm not running in full screen mode but that doesn't seem to be the problem.
