laptop keyboard lay out is an excellent way to use a laptop and does not 
require an extra anything which is one of its advantages.

You also used to be able to buy a number pad that you could hook up to your
laptop and that way you wouldn't have to use the laptop keyboard for jaws
commands.  I'mnot sure if these are still available.  they were just the
number pad, so they didn't take up much room.
