Hi Sean and list,
I have clarifying statements:
Yes, Remote Desktop feature MUST be purchased in order for you to use Remote Desktop Connection. Furthermore, you can use Remote Desktop Connection ONLY with JAWS Pro license. It costs $200 to have JAWS support Remote Desktop. Since Sean said that he has JAWS Standard, that means that he has XP Home Edition. Unfortunately for XP Home/Vista Home Basic/Premium users, you cannot use Remote Desktop because these versions only have Remote Assistance, not Remote Desktop. Check with Freedom Scientific to make sure that your serial number supports Remote Access. Remote Desktop Conneection is only availible in Windows XP Pro/Vista Business/Enterprise/Ultimate (I'm not sure whether 2k has RDC).
Cheers,
Joseph

We have remote desktop and vtn configured.
Right now, I can't login to remote
desktop. Jaws shuts up. That is jaws on my
laptop shutsup and won't come back
again until I close the remote desktop
session. Now the remote computer does
not have remote access for jaws enabled. Do
I need to buy the remote access for
the work computer?

Ok, here is how it generally works. The
company (if they allow remote
desktop access) shoud have given you a
laptop. You need the VPN and
the remote desktop software installed on
your computer whcih is
generally done by the company for security
reasons. Once you have both
of these softwares, you will need VPN
tokens. You cllick on the 'VPN'
icon or select it from the start menu. A
window pops up asking you for
your username and password. In the password
edit box, you enter the
token that the company has provided. Once
you are logged in, you find
the remote desktop icon on the desktop or
from the start menu and
click on it. If your work computer is set
up already, you simply click
ok other wise you have to set up your work
computer first.

I think the best way to do this is to go to
your tech support at work
and have them set up the remote desktop and
VPN for your because I do
not believe that it is completely
accessible. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I do not believe that is true because I use
regular version of JAWS
and it works just fine. When you turn on
your remote desktop
connection, the JAWS from your office
computer takes over and that is
the one that actually runs as long as you
are in the remote desktop
window.

Morning all! I'd like to use my home

 Is
this possible and how do I make it happen?
I'm concerned because I saw
somewhere that remote access is only
available for the professional
version.
Your help is appreciated.
Sean
