I found these instructions buried in some notes for the continual spell and
grammer check. I followed them and now have it back. Thank you James! Judith
Continual Spell check- From James- list moderator
When you have Word open, use INSERT+V for Verbosity.
Arrow down until you hear it say Spelling and Grammar.
If it is not on, press Space to turn it on, then Enter to save the setting.
If it is already on, hit Escape to cancel.
Either way, you will be back in Word.
Next, the word thing.
Hit Alt+T for Tools.
Hit O for Options.
Hit Shift+Tab to get onto the tab controls.
Hit DownArrow to et on the second row of tab controls.
Navigate in that row with Right and Left arrows.
One of the tabs is Spelling and Grammar.
When you get there, hit Tab.
Make sure Check Spelling and Grammar as you type is checked.
