I agree. Having used Office 97 since I upgraded a couple weeks ago, I
understand the frustration, but there are resources out there, such as the
JAWS Basic Training, which give you a good idea of how things work in Office
now.

And, the thing is, there's a big difference between true inaccessibility
and just plain change. I don't like Word 2007, plain and simple. However,
it's not due to inaccessibility, it's due to the fact that I've been using
Word since the 1997 version, and I'm used to my options being where I
think they should be. But, this has absolutely nothing to do with JAWS. I
have a program that I purchased for $30 that gives me back my 2003 menu
options, yet still gives me the ribbon, so I've got the best of both
worlds so to speak. But, inaccessibility and unfamiliarity are just two
different things.

Well, if you're not having an actual problem, the simple truth of it is
really to just get used to it. That's just the way it is. Yeah, it's
confusing, but so is really anything the first few times, until you get
used to it and figure out the tips and tricks that work best for you.

I never meant to imply that JAWS doesn't work with Word 2007. But even
with JAWS 8.0, I find it a real hassle to navigate around the confusing
ribbon menu system. I'm a KISS kind of guy, and wading through a myriad
of bewildering font, color, style set, and format options just to type a
simple business letter just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

When I bought my Dell Inspiron E1505, it came with Word 07. With that
wonderful, look-friendly ribbon and all that, it was a nightmare. When
do
you suppose that Jaws will allow Word 07 to work properly? Do you think
it'll be too late due to another version or OS?
