I agree with you about this and don't wish to disable the notification that
gives me a announcement about a obviously helpful thing like a upgrade.
Absolutely this is a obviously good point, a opinion worth noting. All I
want to do is to be able to get a update and resume operating a application
like this ASAP. Thanks for the sensible advice.

This is really really not a good idea. You really should let win amp inform
you about updates. Many of these updates fix issues with codex and security
Problems. Leaving this feature on there for is a good idea. It lets you
know when it is time to update your win amp. The only time it is a good
idea to disable this is when you are using a older operating system like
windows 98 and cannot use the latest version of the program.

After you've updated, go to preferences and uncheck the check for updates at
start up checkbox.
