You can't add contacts until you send that person a message, then it will put their address in your contacts list. 

I had this same problem a month ago.
After you email them, go into contacts and then you can edit it.
Also I've been told that the standard version is usable, but I don't like it, I use the basic HTML.

I have decided to try and set up a GMail account. All went smoothly but I am having difficulty moving around and adding contacts etc... Is there a resource where I can read up and help me learn how to use Gmail with JAWS? Any assistance would be appreciated.
