hello, Steve;
another way you could solve the problem is? navigate to your C drive, and
enter your Jaws folder,
press the letter S until you hear,
setjv.exe
now, that the file is highlighted,
press applications key, down arrow to send to, enter,
and down arrow until you hear, desktop create shortcut
press enter.
now, go to your desktop, press the letter S, until you hear, shortcut to
setjv.exe, and rename, by pressing the f2 key, and removing the words,
shortcut to and press enter.
now, bring up properties, alt enter, tab until you hear, shortcut key,
none,
hear you can type your choice, and tab okay.
the next time you get, the video intercept error, just use the hotkey for
setjv.exe, and the video intercept will install.
you may need to restart your computer.

Hello Steve;
here's my approach to the video intercept error.
I'm assume your using windows XP.
I first bring up narrator, Windows key+U,
I navigate to start menu,
P for programs,
J for the current version of jaws I'm using,
I enter on tools,
I arrow to video intercept manager, and enter,
tab until you hear, something like Display Video Intercept Information,
down arrow once, you should hear something like, Install Video Intercept
radio button checked,
now tab, you should hear something like, execute button, press enter.
once your prompted that the video intercept is installed successfully,
you
will need to restart your computer.

I think windows update must have gotten a new video set up or something
the
other day. As I posted on the list jaws would not run and narrator said
video intercept error. I did a repair or jaws several times and it still
didn't work right so I completely removed it and reinstalled it and it
seems
fine. When I put the jaws 7 cd in, it didn't speak for a while and then
said
"jaws has made some changes to your computer and you have to restart it
to
continue with the installation. I would imagine that that had something
to
do with the video intercept. If I try to run old jaws 6.20, it won't run
and
narrator says video intercept error. Someone said she came across a
button
that says fix the intercept error with narrator but I didn't find it.
This
is likely to happen again and we need to know what to do when it happens.
So
the question is, what is the best way to respond to a video intercept
error.
