Hello there,
I don't know if tihis is an appropriate list for this, but I really need help
from someone who knows what he's doing.
I was curious about this some time back but wasn't sure what to do since my XP
machine was still working quite well. Well, now it is definitely time to make
the complete switch to my Del which has Vista. I've transfered the majority of
my files to it and all is good. However, here is the thing.
I was using Outlook Express on my XP machine and have set up Windows Mail on my
new machine. I understand it is basically the newer version of Outlook Express.
I have folders with various and sundry emails that I need and access, and I do
have archives there. I'd like my emails, in their folders, transfered to my
Vista machine. I have no idea how to do it or how to begin. I'm too leery to
try anything without asking someone who really knows what he's doing.
I've copied all of my DBX folders, which I understand are the folders from
Outlook Express.
I can also copy my address book to my thumb drive, but I'd like to import it as
well.
So, with as much specific instruction as possible, could someone walk me
through the best way of transfering this important information from one
computer system to another?
Please just assume I'm starting from scratch here, no matter how long I've used
a computer. This is pretty important to me and I want to do it right. <grin>
Thanks!
Jim
