That is what I meant. For so long I have always been told it was the
verboscity menu but, I know when you press the Insert + V keystroke it says
" Jaws Options ". I guess being pretty much self taught a person can pick
up some bad habits. Thanks for jumping in and straightening me out. Take

Actually not the verbosity setting, but the JAWS Options dialog accessed
with the Insert+V key.

I just had a thought. Did you check your verboscity settings? If "
sounds " is turned off under Forms Mode there that could explain why your
sounds aren't working for opening & closing forms / edit fields. Hope this
