What Eric meant in that quote is that JAWS might well be following the
same path Window-Eyes has already taken: i.e. instead of having two
versions of the program, only one. there's no trickery here. If she told
FS that she was getting a computer with XP home on it, FS would have no
reason to tell her about not using a different OS. If you tell me you're
going to buy a car, there's no reason for me to tell you to be sure your
tractor doesn't have a three-point hitch on it.

jaws is certainly a resource hog,
and the corruption of windows core is true in the sense that they have to hack into windows to get the info that is needed well, other products/screen readers mentioned here before do not do such things.

Well Katrina, You are silently in a lot of hot water. If I were you, I would take the Computer back. And get a custom one made with your own version of windows. I have had my problems with fs, and the ATI Cards, Jaws is a resource haug, it also messes up the core of windows. Don't by Computers with windows built on, because if your machine should crash, when you put your windows back you will lose all your data, and the machine will be put back as it was when you bought it.
