Do I run the executable every time I'm at a new computer? Is jaws installed
on the machine, at which I'm working or on the thumb drive? How does that
work? So, I guess when I'm at someone else's computer and want to run jaws
from the thumb drive, I'll need sited assistance to get me started. As
always, thanks for any and all replies.

Hi Tony,
Copy the file you downloaded to your flash drive, and then run the

Hi guys,
Once I download the thumb drive version of jaws to my desktop, do I
click it to install to the thumb drive, or do I copy what I downloaded
right to the thumb drive? Hope this makes sense. Thanks

Hi. I use it all the time for exactly what you want to use it for. I
move around between about 15 computers doing maintenance. I use a usb
thumb drive, a dongle and plug them into a nonpowered hub that I just
plug into each computer. jaws gets its authorization from the dongle.
Unfortunately, now that our computers are running ie 7, I no longer
can do windows update since jaws 7.0 doesn't support ie 7 very well.
I hope fs releases a newer version of jfw for the thumb drives.

Thanks for the clarification about the flash drive version of JFW. Is
it
possible to authorize this version of JFW with a dongle? If not I
really
don't see much functionality for that flash drive version. If the
authorization has to be on the local hard drive you might as well
just
install the full version there as well.
Thanks

Dear Frank (long time no see),
There is a version of JAWS 7.0 for thumb
drive. This is essentially JAWS that is
customized for thumb drive. Despite the fact
that it requires thumb drive, I've installed
it on my other external media such as
external hard drive, CompactFlash, Secure
Digital card, and such. It is a bit slower
than full version of JAWS.
At this stage, there is no way to authorize
this version of JAWS with PAC Mate Desktop.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi all, can anyone tell me a little about the
version of JFW that can run
off of a flash drive? I know that if there is
no authorization on the flash
drive it will run in 40 demo mode. Can the
thumb drive version be
authorizaed with a Pacmate via Pacmate
desktop to run as an unlimited
authorized version or is that functionality
not available in the flash drive
version? What I am trying to accomplish is
the ability to walk around to any
number of computers and use JFW. I will be
the only JFW users on site.
