Hi. the fs representative is absolutely incorrect. When using a dongle, you get full functionality. I don't know where he/she got the info, but nuts to that. if you look at the download page for the thumb drive verision of jfw, you will see 2 other downloads, one for the video intercept driver, and one for the to install the dongle driver. yes, you must install both of these on the target computer, but once done, you will have full jaws when using the thumb drive. The problem is, if the college will allow someone to install the necessary drivers ont he lab computers. Daryl is correct, the freedom box solution is a better choice. that is why I am switching to that for my 
portable access solution.
besides, it works with our server where jaws will not.

No I don't. And I didn't get one because of what the representative told me the other day. And to come to think of it, I'm really glad I didn't purchase 
one because of what a lister said earlier. It only runs as a demo.
The rep didn't tell me that.

I see you got my email. Just to add to Josephs information, According to a
rep at Freedom scientific, you can not get the full functioning's of Jaws
with a dongle. I had the same question when I ordered 8 point o the other
day.

I'm not sure about that, but the FAQ page
says that you'll need a local (possibly ILM
key) in order for JAWS for Thumb Drives to
function in full mode (I'll ask Eric or
Jonathan when I contact them or see them at
CSUN).

Dear Frank (long time no see),
There is a version of JAWS 7.0 for thumb
drive.  This is essentially JAWS that is
customized for thumb drive.  Despite the fact
that it requires thumb drive, I've installed
it on my other external media such as
external hard drive, CompactFlash, Secure
Digital card, and such.  It is a bit slower
than full version of JAWS.
At this stage, there is no way to authorize
this version of JAWS with PAC Mate Desktop.

version of JFW that can run

off of a flash drive? I know that if there is

no authorization on the flash

drive it will run in 40 demo mode.  Can the

authorizaed with a Pacmate via Pacmate

desktop to run as an unlimited

authorized version or is that functionality

not available in the flash drive

version? What I am trying to accomplish is

the ability to walk around to any

number of computers and use JFW.  I will be

the only JFW users on site.
