It is true, they are very good at preventing unauthorized traffic from
outside, but they generally don't alert you if you've got some sort of
troysian horse on your pc which is trying to make contact from your pc back
to some other server. The firewalls that run on your pc are better at
notifying you of unexpected outgoing internet activity.
