Re: Fire Fox & Jaws

When you bring Firefox up with JAWS 9, press JAWS+Q to see which scripts are loaded, and you'll see why Control+F doesn't work. JAWS can be made to load the Firefox scripts by going into the Config file that associates scripts with different application names, but it may not be worth the trouble. I'm not sure how much better Firefox works with the Firefox scripts than with the Default scripts.

Good morning,

I apologize, I tested with JAWS 10 instead of JAWS 9.

In JAWS 10 Control + F brings up the JAWS Find dialog, whereas in JAWS 9 it does not. You can easily resolve this by.

1. Remembering to use JAWSKey + Control + F.

Or,

2. Using the Keyboard Manager to bind Control + F to the JAWS Find command for Firefox.

Everett

I've got Firefox 3.0.4 and I too find Control + F doesn't work. If I do
Control + Insert + F, to get the JAWS find dialogue, that does work. I
think in Internet Explorer when you press Control + F, the JAWS find
takes over from the Internet Explorer one. In Firefox it doesn't - at
least, not in the version I have.

Good morning Nancy,

I am using JAWS 9, Windows XP and Firefox 3.1b2. In Firefox Find is
working
the same for me as it does in IE7. Which version of Firefox did you
install?

Hi All,

I am using Jaws 9 and Vista home.

I downloaded FireFox yesterday and all is fine except for one thing.

The search feature, control+f, doesn't seem to work with FireFox.

When I press that key combination, it will allow me to type in the text
I
want to search for on that page but it never goes anywhere after that.

Just sits there.

If any of you use FireFox for your browser, can you tell me how you
search
for text on a page?

Thanks so much.

Nancy
