FW: jfw Digest V5 #1055

If you wish to get rid of the tabs in IE 7, try the following:
IE 7

To turn off the second Tab and make it look more like IE6:
1.      Open IE.
2.      Click on tools or press ALT+T to open the Tools menu.
3.      Click on options or press o to open the options folder. 
4.      If not already there click on the General page or press Control+Tab 
until you get to the General tab.  
5.      Click the Tab browsing settings button or press ALT+T to move to and 
activate the Tab browsing settings button.
6.      Move to and Click the check box to check the check box for Open only 
first home page when Internet explorer starts, or press ALT+F to move to and 
check the Open only first home page when Internet explorer starts check box. 
7.      Click the OK button, or press Enter.
8.      Then click the OK button again or press Enter to close the options menu.


Note:
Now when you open IE only one Tab will open.  


Some useful shortcut keys for IE:

1.      To open another Tab, press Control+T.
2.      If you have several tabs open and wish to close them one at a time, 
press Control+W.
3.      If you wish to open a new window, press, Control+N.
