Re: Exporting/Copying a Theme

Sorry, but as I've never done this I would not advise you either way.

  Hi Dave,

  I finally found the Barbara.Theme in, "C" drive/Mike folder/application
data/Microsoft/windows/themes/custom. Theme is correct file extension. I have
the Barbara.Theme copied onto a thumb drive. Now, when I get to the other
computer; Do I paste it into the same folder as described above, mening the
"Custom" folder? This is something I have never tried before so I want to make
sure that I do this correctly so I don't screw one of the computers up. Thank
you for all of your help Dave, it is greatly appreciated. Take care.
  Mike

    Mike,

Since I don't know what the default extension will be, either, why not give
it a very unusual name like arblegaster and save? Then search for any file with
that name, regardless of extension. I recommend that you enable searching for
system and hidden files, and start with the Documents and settings folder on
your C: drive.

      Hi All,

We have created a theme in control panel/display/theme page. I believe
that somehow I was able to copy it and it is in My Documents listed as
"Barbara.Theme". Is "Theme" the correct file extension for a theme file? If
not what file extension do theme files use? Where exactly are theme files
stored? I have looked in the Windows folder on the C Drive and don't see
anything with a "theme" extension. I haven't been able to find any way of
exporting this file so, this is why I'm trying to copy & paste so we can take
this theme file to another computer. Someone had mentioned that opening this
theme file in Windows Explorer would allow us to move this file. I don't
understand what they meant by opening with Windows Explorer. Could someone
please explain in detail what this means? All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks much, take care.

      Mike
