Subject: the authorization topic
little did I know that this would generate this much heated debate. I was
more asking the question out of curiousity and because someone asked me. I
just remember when I had to re-authorize jaws once that I was told that if I
needed to do it a lot that I should just use the dongle. and I felt like
saying how am I supposed to predict when my computer crashes? that's the
only reason I asked about it. I've also had others act surprised when i said
that you could not put back the authorization key and that you'd have to get
a new one. they didn't believe me. so, then, just again out of curiousity,
why have the option to remove it in the first place? is that meant more for
if you want to authorize jaws on a computer that isn't your own and then
remove keys when you're done? and in that case, wouldn't it make more sense
to ask for a dongle in those circumstances so that you can run jaws off a
thumb drive? most people now a days seem to have USB memory sticks, which
jaws can run off of. granted it's not the full version that runs off your
pc, but it's great for those times when you need it, and I think that when I
get a job I will use it that way so as not to have to put out the employer
(not that they shouldn't have to supply it). the asking of the question
because I thought that you could put the key into a file as with your
settings like the dictionary settings for example. but now I'm going ahead
of myself.
