Yes that's right. When you move a file it will appear at the bottom of the
list until either you close then reopen the window, or press f5 for refresh.
After that the file will go to wherever it's meant to, according to how the
list is ordered, alphabetically by default.

I think a file or folder that has been moved or created in a list appears
at the bottom until you close and re-open the file list where the folder or
file will appear in the order pre-arranged. The default is alphabetical.

I don't think you can order files in a directory as you please. You can
change certain listing characteristics in the files property menu, just
where that is I don't presently remember but it will always end up being
sorted by alphabetic order or date or what ever other characteristics are
permitted there.

Subject: Cut, copy & paiste within a folder
Hi Listers, back to basics, I'm attempting to cut a Word document from
within a folder list view in Windows Explorer and paste it at the top of
the folder list. First I select the doc with control C , then arrow-up to
the top of the folder list view, then press home just to be on the safe side
I do control V, JFW announces pasted text from clipboard. But what has
happened a copy of the first document appears at the bottom of the list
view. Help on this fundamental skill will be much appreciated! I'm using
Jaws 6.1 with win XP home.
