Barry,

Obviously it will be good if you can work out why the toolbar is
appearing, but in case you can't, here's a method of getting it out of
JAWS way .

Use the PC cursor to get to the first control on the toolbar (Alt, then
Control + Tab repeatedly. On my PC when I get to the Control Toolbox
toolbar JAWS says "menu design mode button"), then route JAWS to the PC
cursor with Insert + NumPad Minus and press UpArrow. JAWS should read
the some or all of the title of the toolbar, which on my PC is "con".
Next, double click the title bar by pressing NumPad slash twice quickly.
This will dock the toolbar and return focus to the document. Docking
means the toolbar is moved to the edge of the programme window, and is
thus no longer on the document window.

Later versions of JAWS have an option in the Adjust JAWS Verbosity
dialogue called Dock floating toolbars which is on by default, but as
you are having the problem I assume you don't have one of these
versions.

Steve

Subject: Control Toolbox problem in Word 2000

Hi folks, not sure if it's happening when I use a JAWS keystroke, but
all of a sudden, the Control Toolbox keeps getting checked in the View,
Toolbars submenu. It's a real pain as it stops JAWS reading the full
line of text in a Word document and I have to keep going back in to turn
it off!

Anyone got any clues what's going on?

All the best,
Barry G
